2MANY BUTTONS

Jim Besser, Anglo Concertina

Jim Besser has played for contra and community dances in the Washington DC area for more than forty years.  His current bands include Frog Hammer, an electric English ceilidh band that recently performed on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center; Otter Loop, a band recreating traditional New England contra dance music; and TerraNova, a trio exploring the new acoustic traditions being forged in Europe.  For decades Jim was the primary musician for the Foggy Bottom Morris Men, a traditional English dance troupe, and for 10 years performed with a band playing for Civil War reenactment balls.

Randy Stein, English Concertina

Randy met Jim around 2010 and was drawn to his incredible musical talent, his extensive repertoire, and his knowledge of the various genres of traditional music.  Jim began introducing Randy to an amazing array of music and musicians and eventually they played together in the trio THE SQUEEZERS with the young phenom melodeon player, Gus Voorhees. Currently the duo 2MANY BUTTONS perform at festivals, Senior Centers, cafes and coffee houses, as well as facilitating workshops and traditional acoustic pub sessions.
